I am a Personal Trainer certified through the National Academy of Sports Fitness (N.A.S.M.).  If you would like more information about the program, or are interested in becoming a client, please send me an email.

FITNESS TIPS:

  • Find an activity that you enjoy!  You're much more likely to stick with something if you like doing it.

  • It doesn't have to be "exercise".  If you like playing sports, then find a league/team to sign up with.  The accountability to others will help you stick with it as well!

  • Don't be scared to try new things.  How do you know you won't like it, if you've never tried it?  Step out of your comfort zone!

  • Don't get stuck in a rut.  Mix up your routine.  Your muscles will get used to doing the same movements regularly, and you will stop seeing results.

  • Find a workout buddy.  It gives you someone to be accountable to, and it helps break up the monotony.  You won't be as likely to miss a workout if you know you're letting someone else down.

  • Set realistic goals.  Accept your fitness level for what it is, and keep in mind that improving it is your main priority.

  • Move more.  Every little bit of activity adds up.  Park farther away from the store, walk around the house while on the phone instead of sitting down, and do mini-workouts while watching TV.

Fitness Facts:

  • 34% of adults, 18% of teenagers, and 20% of children aged 6-11 are considered obese.

  • Adults need at least 2.5 hours of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week, as well as strength training that target all major muscle groups on 2 or more days.

  • Exercise can improve your mood, combat chronic diseases, help manage your weight, boost your energy level, and promote better sleep.  And that is only a few of the many benefits that you get from regular exercise!
